British group participation at this years Interzoo in Nürnberg is to be organised for the first time by the UK export garden and leisure trade federation, Gardenex.
The federation has reached an agreement - with the Pet Care Trust - to take responsibility for the organisation of the UK group of exhibitors and the British Pavilion at Interzoo. Gardenex The Federation of Garden & Leisure Manufacturers has been organising successful groups of British exhibitors at major trade shows for over 40 years, and is recognised by the British government for the high standards it attains in managing these events. Its extensive services concentrate on assisting British companies to enter new export markets and to expand on existing overseas business. A significant benefit to some exhibitors is the securing of government funding for Interzoo 2006 under the new UK Trade & Investment Tradeshow Access Programme. As a result, eligible British-based SMEs that are new to export will receive cash grants of £1,800 towards exhibition space and build costs. The director general of Gardenex is Amanda Sizer Barrett, and following the appointment she said:- "We are delighted to be involved in this exciting new challenge in an industry that is expanding and has a worldwide marketplace. Interzoo is described as the worlds largest trade fair for pet supplies, and our team of event managers and researchers are committed to providing a high standard of service and support for the British group exhibitors. The growth in pet-related products through traditional garden outlets means that we will be in a position to transfer many of our extensive garden and leisure industry exporting skills to the pet industry with the maximum effect. We anticipate that Interzoo will herald a long-standing relationship between the pet industry and Gardenex. The federation team will be manning the stand at Interzoo in order to provide support and help for exhibitors and to help overseas buyers to source appropriate British pet products. We are also exploring the option of offering British exhibitors a package of relevant market research, international buyer contacts and advance trade editorial support. Other major international trade shows to be organised in 2006 by Gardenex are the National Hardware Show in the USA, spoga/gafa in Germany and the Japan Gardening Fair. During 2006, the federation will also be organising overseas trade fair information stands, trade missions, buyer/supplier matchmaking events, an Export Day and the International Buyers Centre at Glee and Petindex, the international garden and leisure trade show at the NEC in Birmingham, UK. Bids have also been submitted to UKTI for nearly 30 additional export events and initiatives over the coming year.
